What is a Wordview?

What Is A Worldview

What is your world view?  It is the filter we use to make sense of, and respond to, the world in ways that represent what

we believe to be true, good, appropriate, and worthwhile.

The question then becomes, Do you really Believe that  what you believe is really real?

What is it that your really believe and where did those beliefs come from?

What do you really believe?

The 2009 the Barna Group worldview study determined that only 9% of Americans had a Biblical worldview.

Only 19% of the subgroup labeled "Born Again, or Evangelicals" had a  Biblical worldview.   Only 46% of those born again believers

stated they  believed in absolute moral truth. A deeper dive in 2021-2022 shows the actual philosophies of life that people actually embrace.  Today just 6% of those actually integrating their beliefs into their lifestyle hold a Biblical worldview.  Eighty eight percent of Americans surveyed in the American worldview Inventory of 2021-2022 held what is called a Syncretism world view.  That is they gathered

a little bit from here and a little bit from there to form the beliefs that actually determined their actions.

The question is, does it matter?  The failure to embrace a Biblical worldview is evident even though a

majority of Americans consider themselves Christian.  Those without a complete Biblical worldview are more: likely to:

  • More likely to believe in karma
  • More likely to believe reincarnation is a very real possibility
  • More likely to believe individual ownership of property facilitates economic injustice
  • Less likely to consider Satan to be a real and influential being
  • Less likely to believe God is involved in people's lives

And  the list goes on.  So does it matter?  Absolutely!  People with a  Biblical worldview are less likely to be fooled by the things of

the  world and are more likely to share   the Truth of the Gospel with the  culture around them.
